A couple weeks of some bitter cold and about a foot of snow was followed by 2 beautiful days in a row. Yesterday, it made it to the mid to upper 60s without a cloud in the sky. Today was almost as nice, just not so warm. The result, almost all the snow melted away in just a couple days. And sure enough, right on time, the crocus and hellebores started blooming. The daffodils have their buds ready. Even the tulips are taking a peek to see if it is safe to come out. Ever since we settled into retirement, the coming of spring is one of the year’s most exciting time for me. Here is a photo of the hellebores (Lenten Rose) that first spring after retirement.
