Sometimes you plan a trip out, list all the places and things you’re going to see. You’re very organized and prepared… and then…
Along the way something catches your attention. That’s cool. That’s interesting. You end up taking a little detour from your itinerary. Sometimes the rest of the itinerary gets dumped altogether.
This morning, I thought of all the times that has happened with us when I saw this shadow on the wall. I was checking out the walls I freshly painted last night. I wanted to see how they look in the daylight, when I noticed this shadow. It wouldn’t be so special except the sun was just breaking the horizon to the right of the light, and the only windows in the room are directly in front of the light. The sunlight, after its 91,628,000 mile journey this morning, took a small detour. It hit the front window of a house across and slightly down the street. It reflected and passed through our front living room window, continued on into our dining room, and created this shadow after striking the candlestick light.
Enjoy the small detours in life.
